(CLICK on the picture to see more.) The Seven Rila Lakes are situated in the northwestern part of the Rila Mountain chain in southwestern Bulgaria. The area with these glacial lakes is one of most popular places in the Bulgarian mountains and fortunately, I managed to go there together with a friend last weekend before the first snow comes... Since we stayed over in a hut at the upper station of a lift, which brings you close to the lakes, we were the firsts to hike there in the morning and could enjoy them almost on our own. Breathtaking!
